"The book weighs heavy in my moist palm. The anticipation of opening it leaving imprints of my impatience on its cover. Yielding, it releases the heady fragrance of promised mystery unveiled, adventure waiting, romance begun, facts uncovered. Lingering over the preface and all those acknowledgements I almost fear turning the page as it will pass so swiftly and my fulfillment will be undone."

Experience

I fell into advertising after a very dismal start at University. I prefer to say that advertising chose me - but that would be deemed arrogant. My rookie years were spent at the infamous Ogilvy & Mather where I learnt the trade from bottom up - quite literally. In the 1980's advertising in South Africa was very much a man's world and young women soon hit the glass ceiling, however I was fortunate enough to work on Sun International - a tough teething ground.

Direct Marketing was the buzz word of the day and long copy fervently worshipped. I followed my Account Director to Wunderman International Direct and made Account Manager before giving it all up to travel.

Twelve months later I honed my sales and marketing skills in a renowned recruitment agency called Michael Page Marketing. Never a slave to conformity, I opened my own recruitment agency 'AdTalent' offering permanent and freelance staff across the United Kingdom.

The allure of the ad industry drew me back.

New Business Development and strategizing was the hook.
